The Civilized Engineering™ Framework

At its core, Civilized Engineering™ develops engineering-grounded approaches for quantifying how residential building damage, repair, retrofit, rebuilding, and homeowner recovery decisions shape the long-horizon continuity of communities. By treating natural hazard impacts as repeated shocks to a distributed residential infrastructure system, the framework evaluates how losses and disruptions accumulate across time, how neighborhoods recover or decline along different pathways, and how engineering knowledge can be translated into decisions that reduce future disruption.
